September 14th

This morning M.G. and I took a tour of the Nyeri High School before we left to come home.  We stopped on the way and made a picture of the 7th Day Adventist Church that we stopped at when the Bunn’s were here.  We got home about 1’oclock and had a quick lunch then we packed our supper and went to Kijabe to see Alan.  We had not seen him since he left September 3rd.  He was on the first team.  He made a fantastic goal just a few seconds before the game was over.  We stayed out there for the movie.

The Bunn’s were close friends from Texas.  They had probably run out of film and asked Dad to snap a picture of the church and send it to them.

It was soccer season and Alan had made the first team at the Rift.  I was at the game and don’t know the difference between a goal and a fantastic goal.  However I will just have to take Mom’s word for it.  Alan really was a great soccer player.  He played left wing and could kick the ball with either his right or left foot.  He used this arsenal to his advantage while playing at Kijabe.  This early use of his foot skills later paved the way for his football career at UT and beyond.

The movies at the Rift were always entertaining, if not the show itself the attempt at censorship put on by our loving staff.

Saw your Dad and step-mom at Ridgecrest this week. There were 150+/- CESA emeriti there and the stories were thick.
